Śrī Hari-nāma Praṇāma
Nāma cintāmaṇiḥ kṛṣṇaś — Glorification of the holy name
The name is Kṛṣṇa Himself, a wish-fulfilling gem, the living form of spiritual rasa. It is whole, pure and eternally free, because the name and the one who is named are not different.
About Śrī Hari-nāma Praṇāma
This verse states that the holy name and the Lord who bears it are one and the same ('abhinnatvān nāma-nāminoḥ'), and so the name is a wish-fulfilling jewel, complete, pure and ever free. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu quotes it from the Padma Purāṇa in Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta Madhya 17.133, while explaining why the Māyāvādīs avoid saying 'Kṛṣṇa', and Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī also cites it in Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu. It is the verse devotees most often recite in glory of the holy name.
