Viśvasya nātha-rūpo 'sau — Obeisances to Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
By showing everyone the path of devotion he became like the lord of the universe, Viśvanātha; and because he lived within the circle of devotees, he came to be known as Cakravartī.
About Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Praṇāma
This verse explains Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura's name in two halves. Because he showed the world (viśva) the path of bhakti, he became like its lord (nātha); and because he moved at the centre of the circle (cakra) of devotees, he was called Cakravartī. Viśvanātha was the great Gauḍīya teacher and commentator of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, author of the Sārārtha-darśinī commentary on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. The verse is said to be sung everywhere among Vaiṣṇavas, but its author is not recorded.
