ṭhākura vaiṣṇava-gaṇa kari ei nibedana mo baḍa adhama durācāra dārūṇa-saṁsāra-nidhi tāte ḍubāila vidhi keśe dhari more kara pāra

Word for word

thakura baisnaba-gana--O saintly devotees; kari--I do; ei--this; nibedana--appeal; mo--me; bada--very; adhama--fallen; duracara--and misbehaved; daruna--frightening; samsara--of material existence; nidhi--the ocean; tahe--in that; dhubaila--has dived; bidhi--my destiny; kese--by the hair; dhari'--holding; more--me; kara--please do; para--to the other shore

Translation

O saintly Vaisnavas, although I am very fallen and misbehaved, I nevertheless place this appeal before you: My destiny has immersed me in this fearsome ocean of repeated birth and death. Please grab me by the hair, and pull me to the opposite shore.

vidhi baḍa balavān nā śune dharama-jñāna sadāi karama-pāśe bāṅdhe nā dekhi tāraṇa leśa jata dekhi saba kleśa anātha kātare teñi kānde

bidhi--destiny; bada--is very; balaban--strong; na--I do not hear; dharama--of religion; jnana--the knowledge; sadai--always; karama-of karma; pase--in the net; bandhe--I am bound; na--I do not; dekhi--see; tarana--means to cross; lesa--little; jata--which; dekhi--I see; saba--all; klesa--sufferings; anatha--without a master; katare--with grief; teni--therefore; kane--I cry

Translation

My destiny is very powerful. I am not able to hear the knowledge of spiritual life, and I am always bound by the ropes of karma. I cannot see any way to escape my condition. I see only suffering. Helpless and stricken with grief, I cry.

kāma krodha lobha moha mada abhimāna saha āpana āpana sthāne ṭāne aichana āmāra mana phire jena andha jana supatha vipatha nāhi jāne

kama--lust; krodha--anger; lobha--greed; moha--bewilderment; mada--madness; abhimana-pride; saha--with; apana apana--freely; sthane--in this place; tane--drag; aichana--like this; amara--of me; mana--mind; phire--moves; jena--by which; andhajana--blind; supatha--auspicious path; vipatha--inauspicious path; nahi--does not; jane--know

Translation

My blind mind cannot see what path is auspicious or inauspicious. My blind mind is helplessly dragged from here to there by lust, anger, greed, bewilderment, madness, and pride.

Translation

My mind became immersed in the impermanent satisfaction of the senses, and I could not understand the reals goal of life. for this reason I did not aspire to attain Your lotus feet. Narottama dasa says--Now that I am able to see, hear, and touch the Vaisnavas, I have become free form all fear.
