About Obeisance 6
This verse is one small part of a much larger work: Srila Sanatana Gosvami's Krsna-lila-stava, sometimes called the Dasama-caritam, a continuous multi-verse offering of praise that follows Krsna's pastimes in Vrindavana exactly as Sukadeva Gosvami narrates them in the Tenth Canto of Srimad-Bhagavatam, from its opening through the killing of Kamsa. Sanatana Gosvami, Rupa Gosvami's elder brother and, like him, appointed directly by Caitanya Mahaprabhu to establish Gaudiya Vaishnava theology, is far better known for his monumental Brihad-bhagavatamrita and his Hari-bhakti-vilasa, the tradition's foundational manual of Vaishnava practice. Krsna-lila-stava is, by comparison, his most compact major composition, closer to a devotee's own running commentary of praise than a philosophical treatise. Individual obeisances like this one are numbered here in sequence purely for reference; taken together, they were composed and are best read as a single continuous glorification of the Bhagavatam's account of Krsna's youth, rather than as separate, self-contained songs.
