Bhajo Patita Uddhāraṇa Śrī Gaura Hari
Worship Śrī Gaura Hari, the deliverer of the fallen; Śrī Gaura Hari, who sports in Navadvīpa.
"Come, come, Mahāprabhu, I humbly pray: now please come to the home of this poor servant."
The Lord set out with His devotees, and all the women joyfully raised the hulu sound.
Advaita's wife and the women of Śāntipura cried "hulu, hulu" as they gazed at Gorā's face.
They gave Him a jewelled throne to sit on and washed His feet with cool water.
"O Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Prabhu, please hear me: Prabhu, kindly come to the room where the meal is offered."
Advaita Prabhu sat on His left and Nitāi on His right, and Caitanya Gosāñi sat on the seat in the middle.
The sixty-four mahāntas, the twelve gopālas, the six cakravartīs and the eight kavirājas were there. Row upon row they set out fine rice with ghee and vegetable dishes, and placed tulasī mañjarīs on top of the offering.
They served śāk (greens), śuktā (a mildly bitter vegetable stew), mocā (banana flower) and fried things too, and the king of Nadīyā ate in bliss.
They offered Gaṅgā water with tulasī, and the son of Śacī ate in bliss.
Yogurt, milk, ghee, chānā and many other offerings: the darling of Śacī ate them in bliss.
Mālpuyā, sara-bhājā (fried milk cream), luci and purī: the Lord who sports in Nadīyā ate them in bliss.
"I do not know the proper way, nor do I know how to cook. Please eat this one handful of plain, dry food."
I cannot describe the end of the meal. They brought scented water in a golden pitcher.
Having eaten, the Lord rinsed His mouth and cleaned His teeth with a golden toothpick.
After rinsing His mouth the Lord sat on His throne, and His dear devotees brought Him camphor-scented betel.
Having chewed the betel, the Lord lay down on His bed, and Govinda dāsa served His feet.
A pavilion of flowers, a bed of flowers, a jewelled throne of flowers, and a canopy and net of flowers.
Flower petals float up and fall on the Lord's body, and in their midst Mahāprabhu falls happily asleep.
Narottama dāsa, servant of the servants of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Prabhu, begs for the chance to serve.
About Bhajo Patita Uddhāraṇa Śrī Gaura Hari
A bhoga-ārati told as a story: Mahāprabhu is invited home, sits between Advaita and Nityānanda, and is served dish by dish (śuktā, mocā, mālpuyā, sara-bhājā, luci) before Govinda serves His feet and He falls asleep in a house of flowers. In verse 13 the singer's own offering is only "one handful of plain, dry food".
