govinda gopīnātha! kṛpā kari rākha nijapade kāma krodha chayajane laye phire nānāsthāne viṣaya bhuñjāya nānāmate govinda—Lord Govinda; gopīnātha—the beloved Lord of the gopīs; kṛpā kari—please be merciful; rākha—please keep; nijapade—at Your lotus feet; kāma—lust; krodha—anger; chayajane—six enemies; laye—taking; phire—wander; nānāsthāne—in various places; viṣaya—sense objects; bhuṣjāya—make me enjoy; nānāmate—in various ways. O Govinda! The beloved of the gopīs, please keep me at Your lotus feet. The six enemies such as lust, anger drag me to many places and make me enjoy sense objects in various ways.
haiyā māyāra dāsa kari nānā abhilāṣa tomārā smaraṇa gela dūre artha-lābha ei āśe kapāṭa vaiṣṇava beśe bhramiye beḍai ghare ghare haiya—being; māyāra dāsa—a servant of māyā; kari—I do; nānā—ṁany; abhilāṣa—desires; tomārā—Your; smaraṇa—remembrance; gela dūre—lost; artha-lābha—in order to gain wealth; ei āśe—with this desire; kapāṭa—pseudo; vaiṣṇava beśe—in the guise of a Vaiṣṇava; bhramiye bedāi—wander; ghare ghare—from house to house. Being a servant of Māyā, I am full of material desires, hence I lost Your remembrance. In order to gain wealth, I wander from door to door in the garb of a pseudo renunciate.
aneka duḥkhera pare layechile vrajapure kṛpāḍore galāya bāṅdhiyā daiva-māyā balātkāre khasaiyā sei ḍore bhavakūpe dileka ḍāriyā aneka—so much; duḥkhera—of misery; pare—after; layechile—took me; vrajapure—in Vraja-pura; kṛpāḍore—with the rope of mercy; galāya—in the neck; bāṅdhiyā—by tying; daiva-māyā—by the illusory energy of the Lord; balātkāre—being forced; khasaiyā—untie; sei ḍore—that rope; bhavakūpe—in the well of material existence; dileka ḍāriyā—put me in. After a great deal of distress, You mercifully took me to Vraja. But Your illusory energy forcibly untied the rope of compassion and again placed me in the well of material existence.
punaḥ yadi kṛpā kari e-janāra keśe dhari ṭaniyā tulaha vrajadhāme tabe se dekhire bhāla natubā parāṇa gela kahe dīna dāsa narottame punaḥ—again; yadi—if; kṛpā kari—please be merciful; e-janāra—of this person; keśe dhari—pulling the hair; ṭaniyā tulaha—pick me up; vrajadhāme—in the abode of Vraja; tabe—then; se—that; dekhire bhāla—my only hope; natuba—otherwise; parāṇa gela—I will die; kahe—says; dīna—poor; dāsa narottame—Narottama dāsa. Please again be merciful to this fallen person and pick me up to Your abode of Vraja by pulling my hair. This is the only hope of my life. Otherwise I am ruined. Thus prays Narottama dāsa.
