mora—my; prabhu—the Lord; madana gopāla—Śrī Madana Gopāla; śrī govinda gopīnātha—Śrī Govinda, the Lord of the gopīs; tumi—You are; anāthera nātha—the protector of the helpless; dayā kara—please be merciful; muṣi—to me; adhamera—fallen soul; saṁsāra—material existence; sāgara—ocean; ghore—absorbed; paḍiyāchi—I have fallen; kārāgāre—in the prison house; kṛpā ḍore bandhi—with the rope of mercy; bāndhi—bind; laha more—please take me.
O my Lord Madana Gopāla! O Govinda, the Lord of the gopīs! You are the protector of the helpless. Please be merciful to this fallen soul. I am imprisoned in this formidable ocean of material existence. Kindly pick me up with the rope of Your mercy.
adhama caṇḍāla āmi dayāra ṭhākura tumi
śuniyāchi vaiṣṇavera mukhe
e baḍa bharasā mane laye phela vṛndāvane
vaṁśīvaṭa jena dekhi sukhe
adhama—fallen; caṇḍāla—dog-eater; āmi—I am; dayāra ṭhākura—personification of mercy; tumi—You are; śuniyāchi—I have heard; vaiṣṇavera mukhe—from the lips of the Vaiṣṇavas; e baḍa bharasā—this is a great hope; mane—in my mind; laye—pick me up; phela—and place me; vṛndāvane—in Vṛndāvana; vaṁśīvaṭa—the place of vaṁśīvata; jena—so that; dekhi—I may see; sukhe—happily.
I am like a wretched dog-eater, but I have heard from the lips of the saintly Vaiṣṇavas that You are the personification of compassion. O Lord, this is my only hope, therefore please give me shelter in Vṛndāvana so that I may happily see Vaṁśivata.
kṛpā kara āgu guri laha more keśe dhari
śrī yamunā deha pada-chāyā
aneka dinera āśa nahe jena nairāśa
dayā kara nā kariha māyā
kṛpā kara—be merciful; āgu guri—take the initiative; laha more—please take me; keśe dhari—by pulling my hair; śrī-yamunā—Yamunā; deha pada-chāyā—give me the shade of Your lotus feet; aneka dinera—for a long time; āśa—desire; nahe jena—may not be; nairāśa—disappointed; dayā kara—be merciful; nā kariha māyā—do not deceive me.
Please come forward and pulling my hair, give me shelter on the banks of the River Yamunā. This is my long cherished desire. Please be merciful to me and do not disappoint me.
anitya śarīra dhari āpana āpana kari
pāche pāche śamanera bhaya
narottama dāse bhane prāṇa kānde rātri dine
pāche vraja prāpti nāhi haya
anitya—temporary; śarīra—body; dhari—accepting; āpana āpana kari—consider it as mine; pāche pāche—in the behind; śamanera bhaya—the fear of death; narottama dāse bhane—Narottama dāsa says; prāṇa—life air; kānde—cries; rātri dine—day and night; pāche—so that; vraja prāpti—attainment of Vraja; nāhi haya—may not happen.
I consider this temporary material body to be the self and I am so fearful of death. Narottama dāsa says, “My soul is crying day and night with the fear that I may not attain the shelter of Vraja.”
