The cluster of brilliant pearls upon her breast is cracking in the dense, spreading fever of her heart; her body lying motionless on the cool ground, she now sinks helplessly, with no remedy in sight.
O Madhava, you who are initiated into the great vow of that sacrifice which grants fearlessness to the people of the cowherd village -- alas, O eternal one, how can this girl of yours, possessed of such a wealth of virtues, deserve to suffer such a terrible condition?
