Radha, O Krishna. Radha! O Keshava, this is Radha in her separation from you:
Even the fine necklace resting upon her breast, that girl, her body grown thin, regards as a burden.
Even the moist, soft sandalwood paste upon her body, she looks upon fearfully as if it were poison.
She heaves sighs of matchless length, burning like the very fire of Cupid.
In every direction she scatters showers of tear-drops, her lotus-eyes like lotuses whose stems have been broken.
She does not let go of her cheek from the palm of her hand, and it stays motionless like the young moon at evening.
Even a bed of tender leaves that comes within sight of her eyes, she perceives as though transformed into blazing fire.
"Hari, Hari," she murmurs constantly into her own ear, as though she were already dying of separation.
