Her locks of hair grew disheveled and her limbs utterly weary; yet in that fierce battle she dealt the hero, Krishna, a defeat.
The sakhis then surrounded the moon-like hero on every side; beholding this, Govinda dasa remains lost in wonder.
About Sakhi Gana Meli Ye Karala
A brief jala-keli, or "water-sport" pada, describing the sakhis setting out together to a pleasure-pond where Radha and Krishna engage in a splashing mock-battle. Govinda dasa Kaviraja lets the disorder of the fight itself carry the eroticism, scattered hair, exhausted limbs, before the comic final image of Krishna, the "moon of the cowherds," surrounded and defeated by the encircling sakhis.
