When I hear of Lord Gaurāṅga’s distress, why does my heart not break into pieces?
ro-i kahaye śuna mā-i
biraha jwarahi jwari yā-i
अर्थ
He listens. He talks. He weeps. The flames of separation burn and burn.
pūṭapāka śata guṇa lekha
majhu tāpa āge so-i rekha
अर्थ
“The heat of boiling cauldrons multiplied hundreds of times does not equal the fever flames of My sufferings.
kālakūṭa śata guṇa māna
so naha āchuka samāna
अर्थ
“The deadly kālakūṭa poison multiplied hundreds of times does not equal the poison of My separation from My beloved.
bajaraka śata guṇa āgi
se-i iha āge rahuṁ bhāgi
अर्थ
“The blows of a thunderbolt multiplied hundreds of times does not equal the blows destiny strikes upon Me.
hṛdaya nimagana śela
tāsañe adhikahi bhela
अर्थ
“A javelin plunged into My heart is not equal to what now wounds me.
śata-guṇa bisūci beyādhi
tāsañe iha baḍa ādhi
अर्थ
“The disease that torments Me is more powerful than any other disease.”
gauraka śuni iha bhāṣa
bhaṇa rādhāmohana dāsa
