Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati’s Vyasa Puja Offering (1935)
Adore, adore ye all The happy day
From Miscellaneous Songs by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Four early pieces Srila Prabhupada published in English-language Vaishnava periodicals well before he traveled to the West or founded ISKCON: an offering for Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura's Vyasa-puja in 1935, published in The Harmonist, the magazine of his own guru's Gaudiya Matha mission; and further pieces in Back to Godhead, the magazine Prabhupada himself founded in 1944, decades before it became ISKCON's own publication. Read together with Vrindavane Bhajan and the Jaladuta writings elsewhere in this book, this chapter traces a consistent thread running from his earliest public writing in the 1930s through to the 1965 voyage that would take that same voice to an international audience.
