Śrī Kṛṣṇera Viṁśottara śata nāma — A Hundred and Twenty Names of Lord Kṛṣṇa

Sri Krsnera Vimsottara Sata-nama gathers one hundred and twenty names of Krishna across its five songs, a devotional form with roots in the much older Vedic tradition of reciting the many names of a deity in sequence, most famously the Visnu-sahasranama, the thousand names of Vishnu. Bhaktivinoda Thakura organized the section so that names cluster thematically rather than appearing in arbitrary order: it opens with the infant Krishna nursing at Yasoda's breast and other names tied to His childhood and pastoral life in Vraja, before moving toward names defined through His relationship with Radharani and other aspects of His identity. Several of the section's songs are unusually brief, sometimes just one or two verses, functioning less as individually complete compositions than as segments of a continuous chain of names divided into song-length pieces for singing — a structural choice that distinguishes this section from the more developed, multi-verse songs found in most of the rest of Gitavali.
