Nitāi and Caitanya are exalted avatāras. No one is merciful like Them.
म्लेच्छ चण्डाल निन्दुक पाषण्डादि यत
करुणामय उद्धार करिल कत शत
अर्थ
How many hundreds of mlecchas, caṇḍālas, blasphemers, and offenders did They deliver?
हेन अबतारे मोर किछु-इ न हैल
हाय रे दारुण प्राण कि सुखे रहिल
अर्थ
Why does the descent of Nitāi and Caitanya to this world mean nothing to me? Alas! My heart is very cruel. How can I live a happy life?
यत यत अबतार ह-इल भुबने
हेन अबतार भा-इ न हय कथने
अर्थ
Many many avatāras have come to this world. O my brothers, none of Them are like these avatāras.
हेन प्रभुर पाद-पद्म न करि भजन
हाते तुलि मुखे बिष करिनु भक्षन
अर्थ
I did not worship those two Lords. Raising my hand to my mouth, I have drunk poison.
गौर-कीर्तन-रसे जगत डुबिल
हाय रे अभागार बिन्दु परश नहिल
अर्थ
The whole world is plunged into the nectar of kīrtana brought by Lord Gaura. Alas! Not even a drop of that nectar has touched this unfortunate soul.
कान्दे कृष्ण-दास केश छिण्डि निज करे
धिक् धिक् अभागिया केन नाहि मारे
अर्थ
With his own hands Kṛṣṇa dāsa pulls the hairs from his head. Alas! Alas! I am very unfortunate! Why do I not die?
