'Avaśya Rakṣibe Kṛṣṇa' Viśvāsa, Pālana — Faith in Kṛṣṇa as Protector

This section is built around the third of Rupa Gosvami's six limbs of surrender, raksisyatiti visvasah: the settled conviction that Krishna will certainly protect whoever has taken shelter of Him. Its title states this directly — avasya raksibe Krsna, Krishna will surely protect — and its four songs trace that conviction being worked out in real time rather than simply asserted, moving from an initial statement of faith through the falling away of false pride, atma-samarpana, that genuine trust requires. The final song of the section, at eleven verses the longest in this particular chapter, spends that length tracing ordinary self-regard being set down piece by piece rather than all at once, reflecting how Bhaktivinoda Thakura structured Saranagati as a sequence rather than a random collection: the earlier sections on accepting the favorable and rejecting the unfavorable lead naturally into this one on trust, before the book moves on toward guardianship, full self-offering, and finally humility. Several songs in this section have drawn real, continued use in personal devotional practice — the section's opening song alone has multiple recordings gathered on this site, suggesting these songs have remained active in use well beyond their original 1893 publication.
