पश्य पश्य सखि होरी-युद्धम् रध-मधव-कृतम् अनु रहसं सुचिरं भवद्-अनुरुद्धम्
अर्थ

O friend, look! Look! Following your request, Radha and Kṛṣṇa are engaged in a long Holi-festival battle in a secluded place.

दण्डदण्डि-गते परिखण्डित-तरतम-व्यतिरोधम् व्यतिसञ्जनम् इह भति तडिद्-घन-रुचि-जय-लसद्-उद्बोधम्
अर्थ

Struggling for supremacy in each other's arms, They are more splendid than a monsoon cloud and lightning.

मस्तक-वस्त्र-स्खलनारम्भात् पिहिते तन्-मुख-युगले भ्रमर-वारायितम् एकेनास्मिन्न् अन्यस्मिन् बहु कमले
अर्थ

Their turbans began to fall onto Their faces. One face appeared like a swarm of bumblebees and the other like a cluster of lotus flowers.

भुज-भुजगेन हरेर् बहुधरचि हृदि तस्यः फन-लील चक्रवक-युग-गीर्णि-रवकलि यत्र मुहुः कृत-शील
अर्थ

Playfully coiling again and again around them, the serpents of Kṛṣṇa's arms devour the screaming cakravāka birds of Rādhā's breasts.

अपि पुनर् अस्मिन्न् अवकलयत किल निरवनिरुह-तति-देशम् अभिनव-कनक-लत-परिवलयित-तरुण-तमल-कुलेशम्
अर्थ

Look! In this treeless place the king of young tamāla trees is embraced by a young golden vine.

तं युवती-कुल-सहयक-कृत-बल-रध-वश-वलितम् रचयति नयति च निज-विषये दिशि रभस-रसद् अपि वलितम्
अर्थ

Rādhā and the gopis have overpowered Kṛṣṇa. They forcibly carry Him to their place.

नीतं तं नव-पीत-पटं मृगनभि-जलैर् अभिषिक्तम् तनुते सुतनु-ततिर् इह वितनु-प्रमद-मदद् अतिरिक्तम्
अर्थ

Kṛṣṇa, who is dressed in yellow garments, is now taken by them. Sprinkling Him with musk-water, the beautiful gopis arouse His strong amorous desire.

सेयं रध स्वयम् इह मुरलीं यद् बत हरति स-यत्नम् न तद् अद्भुतम् इव यद् अहरद् अस्य प्रथमं हृन्-मणि-रत्नम्
अर्थ

After a great struggle Rādhā takes away Kṛṣṇa's flute. She does not think it very wonderful, although for Him it is the great jewel of His heart.

अथ रमदिः सखि-जनत तं पश्यन्ती विनिरुद्धम् सन्धिम् अधित्सत विसृजन्ती तः प्रति दुतं गुण-शुद्धम्
अर्थ

Seeing that Kṛśna is taken captive, Balarāma and the other gopa-friends have decided to sue for peace. They now send a virtuous, pure-hearted messenger to the gopis.

रमः स यद फल्गुण-पर्वणि देयं मेने दतुम् प्रतिभुवम् अदयथ तद हरिर् अभिर् अमन्यत रतुम्
अर्थ

On that Holi festival day Balarāma sent a gift to the gopis as ransom for Kṛṣṇa's release. The gopis accepted the gift and decided to give Kṛṣṇa to Balarāma.

जते सन्धव् अखिलेनपि च शंसति दिव्ये लोके निज-निज-कन्त-मोह-विरोहण-गीतिः स स विलुलोके
अर्थ

As the peace-treaty was accepted by all parties, the demigoddesses in the celestial planets intently watched, and sang many charming prayers of glorification.
