Sri Ksanada Gita Cintamani

Sri Ksanada Gita Cintamani contains 59 songs, composed by Vasudeva Ghosa.

Sri Ksanada-gita-cintamani, the wish-fulfilling jewel of night songs, is compiled by the same Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura responsible for Stavamrita Lahari elsewhere on this site, though this collection is markedly different in character: fifty-nine Bengali kirtan songs rather than Sanskrit astakas, and overwhelmingly focused on Lord Nityananda rather than divided between guru and Deity as the other book is. Song after song here addresses Nitai directly — as life itself, as the shelter of the fallen, as inseparable from Gauranga — reflecting the traditional understanding that approach to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's own mercy properly begins with Nityananda Prabhu's mercy first. Only one song in the collection carries an attributed author elsewhere on this site, to Vasudeva Ghosa; the rest, consistent with much of this padavali genre, circulate without an attached name.
