Vasudeva Ghosa

From Songs of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Acaryas by Narahari dāsa.

Srila Vasudeva Ghosa, with his brothers Srila Govinda Ghosa and Srila Madhava Ghosa, was one of three siblings from Kulai village on the Ajay river near Katwa who became celebrated kirtan singers and eternal associates of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda Prabhu — the three brothers together led one of the seven kirtan parties present at the Ratha-yatra festival in Jagannatha Puri that Mahaprabhu Himself attended. Thirty songs are gathered under Srila Vasudeva Ghosa's own signature here, the second-largest chapter in this whole anthology after Srila Narahari Dasa's fifty-seven, moving through gaura-candrika description of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's appearance at Navadvipa alongside several songs directly glorifying Sri Nityananda Prabhu as the shelter of the fallen — reflecting the brothers' own especially close historical association with Sri Nityananda Prabhu.
